Danilo Stefanoni

It was in 1990 that Danilo Stefanoni began to work as a joiner and prototype maker at the Fratelli Boffi furniture manufacturer in Lentate sul Seveso (Monza and Brianza), one of the most important Italian enterprises in the sector of high quality cabinet-making and design.

Wood and Furniture

His craft is the fruit of passion and a thorough grasp of the various techniques of woodworking and is based on a deep understanding of the material. Danilo Stefanoni expresses his skill, imagination and creativity not just in the pieces of furniture that he constructs flawlessly, but also in the small wooden objects that he likes to make, such as toys or ornaments. His dedication to his work and his expertise also find expression in teaching: in fact he makes his skills available  for training the students who come to the company for work experience.

The family-run company Fratelli Boffi, today a player of great importance at an international level, was founded in 1928 and specialized in the production of classic furniture typical of the region, keeping alive the ‘culture of making things’ linked to the artisan tradition of woodworking in this part of the industrious region of Brianza. Later, with the passing of the years, this culture of tradition encountered and happily espoused the culture of modern design, represented by important architects and designers: this cleared the way for a shift from the classic to the contemporary, a move in which Fratelli Boffi found itself in the vanguard, but one that has since been followed by many other Italian companies of distinction.

Its products have been shown at many exhibitions and fairs, in Italy and abroad, and the company has collaborated with numerous eminent designers, from Ugo La Pietra to Ferruccio Laviani, from Analogia Project to Nigel Coates and from Aldo Cibic to Christophe de la Fontaine, on the realization of objects or entire collections. Today it is one of the companies most open to contemporary design and with the highest capacity to take advantage of it, its gaze fixed on an increasingly international clientele but without losing its ties with tradition. A company that looks after and protects its human capital, i.e. its master cabinet-makers, who have always been at its heart and are the most authentic source of its excellence.
