Lorenzo Borghi

Lorenzo Borghi was born in Milan in 1940. He began his apprenticeship at the age of 12 under a Tuscan master milliner in his studio in the historic centre of Milan.

Tailoring / Fashion and Accessories

In 1961, after the death of the master craftsman, Borghi took over the business and still today, despite his advanced age, continues to craft unique hats for women.

He has long worked for major fashion designers such as Krizia, Ferré and Valentino, creating custom-made hats for their collections. His illustrious clientele includes Queen Elizabeth II, whose letter of thanks he proudly displays in the studio.

The studio is located in a marvellous 15th century building in Via dei Piatti, just a short distance from Piazza Duomo, bearing the title of “Bottega storica”.

Every hat is conceived, designed and made strictly by hand personally by Borghi in the studio.

Borghi’s life and work are closely entwined, having spent over 65 years dedicating himself with passion to his craft.
