Maria Teresa Bergamaschi

Maria Teresa Bergamaschi, born in 1948, boasts a 60-years-long career in the field of embroidery. She started her journey when she was only 15 years old, working for Brambilla e Figli in Gorgonzola (Milan) as an apprentice: here she learned everything from how to handle needle and thread and the basics of preparatory sketches, all the way up to the secrets of embroidery.

Embroidery and Lace

In less than 5 years, thanks to her skills and talent, she became the company’s embroidery department coordinator: under her supervision each step of the processing, from designing to crafting, was set into motion; furthermore, she assisted the company’s management with all the strategic and commercial decision-making. In 1991 she took over the company, becoming the owner of Brambilla Ricami. In the course of her ongoing career, Maria Teresa worked alongside the best fashion designers and professionals, both Italian and international (Dolce&Gabbana, Versace, Armani, Krizia, Ferrè, Lancetti, Raffaella Curiel, Trussardi, Rocco Barocco, Burberry…but she also worked with Milan’s Teatro alla Scala),

always seeking to learn new things, while at the same time conveying her passion and know-how. In her atelier, everything is crafted with extreme care and precision: each embroidery is entirely handmade. Maria Teresa believes it is very important to create a relationship of mutual trust with her customers, because it’s only through this relationship that her creations can come to life and satisfy each client’s needs. Her personal goal is, and always has been, to strive for excellence and proudly carry on an all-Ilalian tradition, trade and art.
