Eduard Bodi

Eduard Bodi was born in Jesolo (Venice) in 1974. At a very young age, he started working in the horticultural field, in the family business. He trained as a gardener and floral specialist working for various companies in Venice’s Lido, Lissone (Monza and Brianza) and Mestre.

Floriculture and Garden

In 2005, in Seggiano (Venice) he taught an ESF course entitled Multi-purpose green area maintenance workers. Between 2007 ad 2009 his passion for gardens led him to work at The Holme mansion, located inside Regent’s Park, London. In 2010 he became a freelance gardener, and he began designing, creating and taking care of wonderful terraces between Venice and Paris. He took part in the organization of international floral events and in 2016 he became San Lazzaro’s island (Venice) sole  gardener, on behalf of the Armenian Mekhitarist Congregation. Starting in 2019, he became Head Gardener of the “Complesso Monumentale dei Giardini Reali” (Royal Monumental Gardens Complex) in Venice, managed, curated and preserved by Venice Gardens Foundation.

This is his most ambitious project, to which he is devoting all his care and attention: a meticulous work of restoration and conservation of the green area, aimed at countering the damages of winter high tides and severe lack of rain. This is an ideal place to walk, read, contemplate and relax. Thus, pruning and cleaning, controlling exuberant weeds, re-arranging evergreens and cultivating perennial daisies and agapanthus, Eduard Bodi is returning this beloved place, their childhood garden, to all Venetians.
