Sandro Tiberi

Sandro Tiberi was born in Fabriano in 1963, where he currently lives and works. His workshop is located in the heart of this town, famous for papermaking, a tradition dating back to the 13th century.

The master boasts decades of experience in handmade paper making, employing the filigree technique. His hands give life to wonderful sheets, envelopes and decorated cards, as well as lamps and other home decors. Employing traditional processing techniques and exquisite materials, he is able to satisfy all of his clients’ needs, including those using the latest generation of printers. Actively involved in teaching, he holds courses for children, adults and people with disabilities. In 2018 he started teaching Paper Technology at Rome’s Fine Art Academy, while also holding classes and workshops on creative paper making. He is also a teacher and consultant at Fabriano’s “Scuola Internazionale dei Mestieri d’Arte” (International School of Artistic Trades). His love for this trade and for teaching led him to found “Accademia delle Arti Cartarie in Fabriano” (Fabriano’s Academy of Paper Arts), a significant project aimed at promoting this historical craft district.

The Marche Region awarded him with the “Eccellenza Artigiana” recognition in 2010, and appointed him “Maestro Cartaio” (Master Paper maker) in 2012, and he also won the prize “Solidarietà FNATC” in 2015 and “Maestro Artigiano OMA” in 2021. He took part in major exhibitions and events throughout Italy. He also wrote the book “Incontro con la carta” (Meeting Paper), published by Chiaraedizioni.
