Giorgiana Corsini

President of the Associazione Giardino Corsini

The long-standing annual event “Artigianato e Palazzo. Botteghe artigiane e loro committenze” began in Florence in 1995. It is the embodiment of an idea by Neri Torrigiani with the patronage of Principessa Giorgiana Corsini. The primary objective is to provide a contemporary context for craftspeople and their crafts so that they can be appreciated with fresh eyes. Each year, around 100 artisans are selected to be the focal point of the event, most of them from Tuscany, but also from other areas of Italy and abroad. In addition to its importance as a cultural event to popularise crafts, the fair is an opportunity to admire the applied arts from up close, allowing them to become part of our daily life.

Every iteration of the exhibition features a Mostra Principe, or main exhibition, which showcases a company that began as an artisanal enterprise and subsequently became internationally successful. After more than two decades, "Artigianato e Palazzo" is still a unique event among the Italian fairs dedicated to high craftsmanship. It is distinguished by the elevated level of its exhibiting ateliers, its special format, and its wide-ranging cultural offer – all elements that have led to a continuously growing number of visitors.
