The Foundation "Centro per la Conservazione e il Restauro dei Beni Culturali – La Venaria Reale" was founded in 2005 as an institute for advanced training and research in the fields of restoration and conservation of cultural heritage. The CCR is organised in six departments: the School of Advanced Training, the Conservation and Restoration Laboratories, the Scientific Laboratories, the Imaging Laboratory, the Library and the Documentation Centre. The CCR follows a methodology that integrates the competencies of restorers, art historians and scientists. The advanced training in restoration and conservation, which includes research on materials and restoration techniques, is the main statutory objective. The CCR works in favour of the community of restoration professionals, and more generally speaking, it offers the field of cultural heritage preservation a vast store of updated knowledge.
